Living so close to Mt Tamborine, we kind of take it for granted and never drive up just for a relaxing lunch. In honour of pre-birthday celebrations for my cousin last weekend, though, we drove up and brunched at a cute coffee shop called Spice of Life. To me, any coffee shop that has a bookshelf of travel and cookbooks, or any books, really, earns a nod of approval. And if they have an all-day breakfast menu, they'll earn some more enthusiastic nodding. But when their drinks menu boasts unique and select drinks like dandelion soy lattes, you know their chances of leaving an imprint in your memory are high. Or maybe just a bookmark in your browser.
